This is a difficult hike that offers views of the entire Telluride valley from the iconic Ajax Peak. This hike starts at the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls before branching off and heading up Ajax Peak.

Directions:

Begin the hike at the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls, where you can either take the road or the Bridal Veil Falls Trail. At the top of Bridal Veil Falls, take Black Bear Pass past Ingram Falls and into Ingram Basin (you may encounter 4WD vehicles). Just above this steep section at the bottom of the basin, near the creek, is the trailhead on the left heading upwards.  Follow the switchbacks that take you to the grassy ridge between Ingram Basin and Savage Basin. Catch a well-worn trail to the false summit of Ajax for panoramic views into the valley, overlooking Telluride. If you would like to add the full summit to your day, follow the much steeper ridge up for amazing views. The trail does leave the ridge momentarily, but you will return to it prior to the summit.
