This is a moderate hike that offers amazing views Lizard Head Peak, a distinctive 400-ft. rock spire that looms over Telluride. 

Directions:

This trailhead begins at the parking lot at the top of Lizard Head Pass. Stay straight on the trail (Groundhog Stock Trail intersects .4 miles in) and continue to the base of Lizard Head. You can continue on the Cross Mountain Junction to the Lizard Head Trail to make it a 11.7-mile loop instead of an out-and-back hike.
