Hiking with Kids

Kidshiking

Ready, set, hike! There are many kid-friendly hiking trails in Telluride. The key to a fun hike with kiddos is to bring lots of snacks and treats. Here are favorite hikes with pint-sized partners:

The River Trail runs 3 miles out to Society Turn but the 1 mile stretch through town is perfect to warm up your legs for future hiking adventures. It is flat and winds along the San Miguel River with many ideal spots for snack breaks and skipping rocks.

Bear Creek Trail  (5 miles round trip) is the perfect hike with kids as it is only moderately steep and the reward at the end of the hike is a big, gushing waterfall.

Tall pine trees, mining artifacts, and the roaring rapids of the San Miguel River make the 2.5 mile Keystone Gorge Trail exciting for little ones.
