The Ouray Via Ferrata is a newer Via Ferrata in Ouray's famous Uncompahgre Gorge. It offers several different routes, including the Downstream and Upstream routes. The Upstream Route is a more challenging route than the classic Downstream Route. In general, users of the route can expect fewer rungs and more natural rock features for progression, all protected by the same cable and VF attachment system. 

The Via Ferrata is free to use, but safety protocols are in place for both gear and use. Local guide stores offer gear rentals for an affordable price along with guided tours to make the experience memorable.
