Telluride Valley Floor
Open Space Paradise
The Telluride Valley Floor is a 3-mile stretch of land outside of town has been preserved as an open space, representing one of the region’s greatest achievements in preservation. The area is open to biking, hiking, running, showshoeing, skate skiing and more. Parking is available at Mahoney Drive or at the Lawson Hill Park and Ride lot. Please stay on groomed trails and respect wildlife and protected wetland areas. Dogs are not permitted on the Valley Floor west of Boomerang Trailhead.
Summer Trail Use There is a variety of activities available on the Valley Floor, including a small bike park near the Boomerang Trailhead. It is also possible to make a loop out of the Valley Floor Trail that follows the south side of the slope and connects to the Bike Path across from Society Circle.
Winter Trail Use There are 15 to 20 km of groomed nordic trails for skate and classic skiing. Snowshoes, hiking, and fat-tire biking are allowed on designated trails.
