This is a great 14,000-peak to climb in Telluride! Aside from being the peak on the Coors Light can, it is also a very rewarding hike via the Rock of Ages Trail. However, there is some class 3 scrambling, so it is recommended for experts only. It can also be done in conjunction with two other 14ers, Mount Wilson and El Diente. Hiking guides are available in the area.
Directions:
From Telluride, head towards Placerville and take a left on Silver Pick Road. Head up the road roughly four miles and take a right onto the 622 Road, take this road (and stay right at the fork) to the Rock of Ages Trailhead.
