5 Fun Things To Do During Fall In Telluride
1) Hike the Judd Wiebe
Fall is an amazing time to take a quick jaunt up the local favorite Judd Wiebe trail. You can get all-encompassing views of town and the valley floor, and the colors from the sapens off the ski resort can be incredible. Bring the pooch if you have one, and don't forget some water. Even in the mild fall weather, you can work up a thirst!
2) Take a ride up the Gondola before it stops running
The Gondola officially stops running for maintenance on the 19th of October. Now is a great time to take a ride up and over and witness the changing colors. The view from the Mountain Village side can be breathtaking. Don't forget your camera!
3) Hike the River Trail all the way to the Pandora Mine.
locals and visitors alike love a nice stroll through town, all the way past the East End on the San Miguel River trail to the Pandora Mine. It's an easy walk, and a great way to catch the changing leaves up close. Once to the mine, take in the incredible views of the power station house sitting atop the Bridal Veil Falls. Always stunning!
4) Sit on a Main Street bench and watch the world go by, and the sun go down.
This time of year you can be privy to some amazing sunset lighting over the ridge from a main street bench. Grab a cup of java from the Steaming Bean, and sit back and relax as the world goes by.
5) Drive the Last Dollar Road.
This is a wonderful drive in the fall. Best done in a Jeep, but not required. Another great place for some photo ops!
