Cornet Creek Hike
There are lots of great hikes for kids in Telluride! Today we hiked one of my favorites, Cornet Creek Falls with my dog Budda. From the top of Aspen Street, walk straight ahead, past the Jud Wiebe bridge and follow the trail along the east side of the creek. This hike is kid-friendly because it is short and sweet. Make sure to wear sneakers because the trail is steep and rocky. On the way up, we found some mini waterfalls to play in.
Big trees give you shade and I always like to hug one of my special tree friends. I drink lots of water too! Don't worry about you or your dog getting hot. At the top, you will get sprayed with water from a ginormous waterfall.
It is fun to walk under and play around the falls! The water is very cold! If you have packed a lunch, be sure to eat it up here where it is nice and cool. Walking down is slippery so be careful. You can see the ski area from certain parts of the hike. Before you know it, you will be back in town for some yummy ice cream at Telluride Truffle!
